How To Create Vpn In Windows Xp
Below are given the tutorials link for Windows XP users, which tells you step-by-step how to setup VPN on Windows XP system, you may find the guide according to your system requirement.
Things to Consider:
Before you begin, please make sure that:
- You have a working internet connection
- Windows Supported Device.

PPTP L2TP OpenVPN
1 Click on "Start" and go to "Control Panel"
2 Click on "Network and Internet Connections"
3Click on "Network Connections"
4 Click on "Create a new connection"
5Click on "Next"
6 Select "Connect to the network at my workplace" and click "Next"
7Select "Virtual Private Network connection" and click "Next"
8Insert "PureVPN PPTP" as Company Name and click "Next"
9 Insert your desired server address / IP and click Next. Click here to get the server list.
10 Select "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" and click Finish
11 Insert the following info:
- Insert Username and Password provided by PureVPN ( Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username. )
- Select "Save this user name and password for the following users
- Select "Me only" or "Anyone who uses this computer"
- Click on Properties
12 Click on "Networking" Tab and select "PPTP VPN" from drop down menu.
13 Uncheck "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" and click "OK"
14 Click on "Connect" now
15 VPN connection will be established after username and password verification.
16You are connected NOW. Enjoy the Freedom 🙂
17 To disconnect VPN, right click on VPN connection and select "Disconnect"
1 Click on "Start" and go to "Control Panel"

- Select "Save this user name and password for the following users
- Select "Me only" or "Anyone who uses this computer"
- Click on Properties
12 Click on "Networking" Tab and select "L2TP IPSec VPN" from drop down menu.
13Uncheck "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" and click on "Security" tab
14 Click IPSec Settings
15Select "Use pre-shared key for authentication", insert "12345678" in Key box and hit "OK"
16Select required data encryption and hit "OK".
For Streaming purpose uncheck required data encryption.
17Click on "Connect" now
18Step18: VPN connection will be established after username and password verification.
19 You are connected NOW. Enjoy the Freedom 🙂
20 To disconnect VPN, right click on VPN connection and select "Disconnect"
1 Click here to download PureOpenVPN installer.
Installing OpenVPN:
2Right click on "OpenVPN installer" and go to "Properties"
3 Click on "Unblock"
4 Click on "Apply" then hit "OK" and double click on installer.
5 Click on "Next"
6 Click on "I Agree" to continue the setup
7 Click on "Next"
8 Click on "Install" to begin installation.
9Once installation completes, click on "Next"
10 Uncheck "Show Readme and click on "Finish"
Connecting OpenVPN:
11 Right click on "OpenVPN GUI" icon and select "Open" or simply double click on "OpenVPN GUI"
12 Right click on "OpenVPN" icon from system tray to get the server list
13 Go to desired server / country and select "Connect"
14 Insert Username and Password provided by PureVPN and hit "OK" ( Important Note: Your email address is not your VPN login username. )
15 VPN connection will establish in few seconds
16 You are connected now. Enjoy the Freedom!!!
Saving Username and Password:
17 Right Click on "OpenVPN" icon from system tray, Move to desired server / country and select "Edit Config"
18 Add "pass.conf" after "auth-user-pass" parameter and save the file
19 Click on Start, go to All Programs > Accessories and open "Notepad"
20Insert Username in first line and password in second line then save the file in OpenVPN installation directry C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config as "pass.confg"
21Go to the OpenVPN directry C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config, click on Tools and select "Folder Options"
22 Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file type", hit "Apply" and "OK".
23 Right click on "pass.conf.txt", select "Rename" and remove .txt then hit "Enter"
24Click "Yes" on next window
Repeat Step 17 and 18 to add pass.conf to all server / countries then proceed to connect VPN
